Friday 8 July 2011 was Festival Day in Jedburgh and a fun time was had by all at the Glenbank Hotel.

The morning ride-out to Ferniehirst Castle and the Capon Tree and back to Jedburgh saw 284 horses take part.

The afternoon fancy dress parade was well attended, attracting royalty in the form of ‘Lady Godiva’ and a mini ‘Wills & Kate’ as well as many visitors, including Glenbank guests, plus the good folks of Jedburgh.
Pipe and brass bands provided the musical entertainment for the parade (also in fancy dress of course).

Up at the Glenbank House Hotel, our restaurant was buzzing with our special Festival lunch & dinner menu. It’s always fully booked, so if you want to join us next year – book early!

Monday 4 July 2011: As part of the annual Jethart (Jedburgh) Callant’s Festival, the Glenbank House Hotel provides hospitality to the pipe band accompanying the Callant and his followers.

As a thank you for their refreshments, the band played for the hotel guests, before going up to Jedburgh Castle Jail to meet the Callant and to lead him and his followers returning on horseback from the Queens rideout down Castlegate to Jedburgh town centre.

Glenbank House Hotel, Jedburgh is pleased to announce the launch of its new website.  Under new ownership since March 2011, Alex and Julia are working to ensure that the hotel offers a warm welcome and comfortable accommodation for visitors to Jedburgh and the Scottish Borders. The online booking facility for our hotel rooms is a new addition to our communication options, but we also still welcome hotel room bookings by phone or e-mail!
